Digitaly Retouched

My Home is under construction. I saw a pile of logs lying in one place. Thought for quiet some time before I picked up the camera. Initial result was useless. A little bit of retouching has made it worth a look.

While on an outing, I was sitting close to a bush, I saw this beautiful spider. I had to spend close to 2 hours and about 50 photographs before I could finally get to this one. The spider was just about 12 inches above the ground. Top down cover was not good with all the merging green foliage. I had to sneak the camera underneath the web. With every move of mine, the spider would run to a corner and would come back only after 5 minutes or so. But after all this, the result was good, I think. Please feel obliged to place a critique on my photographs ;-)

I don't know the scientific name for this spider, so if someone could enlighten me...

The Bird

The Lunar Eclipse

Had a chane to witness lunar eclipse this year. Although not the phenomenon is not rare as most of other heavenly events, but for me it was. It was visible from 0325 hrs to 0630hrs on 03 Mar 07 in India. Stayed up all night to watch the moon grow from white to blueish to copper red as it was slowly eaten up by earth's shadow. Wish I had a bigger and better lense. Nevertheless, I feel its good enough for me.. for now ;-)

Brahma Kamal

The Brahma Kamal, or the lotus of Lord Brahma (Hindu Mythology). Its a pure white flower (its digitally modified here) about 5 inches in diameter. It blooms in the evenings, once a year and for a duration of just about six hours. My friend had this plant and when it bloomed, he promptly gave me a call. We set up our equipment forced it to remain in bloom forever.

Hi There, I am back..

Hi There,
I am back. It has been quiet some time since I last updated my blog. But its better late than never. So without much further ado, Here is the fresh crop of my photographs.
This one was (in fact she is - still alive) a stray cat. I spotted her enjoying the winter sunshine. She looked terrific and I ran for my camera. Once back she was still waiting for me. She looked at me as if I were a papparazi. I did not let the look go by and captured it.
This is another tree who could not live to tell the tale of devastating tsunami of 26 Dec 2005. Barely two months after in February, I spotted this creeper going up the huge tree of which only skeleton was left.
These two lsles are a part of the Andaman Islands, India. Beautiful and serene, the Bay of Bengal appears like a huge swimming pool. Reflections of clouds and skies on the ocean surface is something I will ever forget.
